Job summary

NICHOLAS AIR seeks an experienced Director of Aviation Safety for its growing Part 135 operation based in Oxford, Mississippi. The role oversees the Safety Management System (SMS) and safety culture, collaborating with Executive Leadership, Flight Operations, Maintenance, and Training to uphold the highest standards.

The candidate will have at least 5 years of management experience within Part 135 and must report daily to the Oxford headquarters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation, Safety, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 Years of Management Experience within a Part 135 Operation.
• Reports daily to the Oxford, Mississippi Headquarters.

Responsibilities

• Oversee FAA-compliant Safety Management System (SMS).
• Develop, implement, and maintain safety management processes.
• Manage risk assessment and safety reporting.
• Serve as main contact with regulators, vendors, and third-party agents on safety matters.
• Prepare for Drug and Alcohol Abatement and FAA audits, inspections, and certifications.
• Maintain oversight of internal audits and confidential safety reporting systems.
• Collaborate with Flight Ops and Training to integrate safety data into training.
