Job summary

City of Lakeland, FL seeks a capable aviation operations professional to support airfield management and compliance with FAR Part 139. You will assist in planning, inspections, training, and incident response under supervision.

Responsibilities include security credential screening, access control support, and updating policy documents to meet federal requirements. The role requires coordination with multiple agencies and contractors and willingness to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aviation management, business administration, or related field required.
• One year of training and experience in FAR Part 139 operations preferred.
• Knowledge of federal airport regulations and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and coordinating airfield management activities.
• Perform FAR Part 139 airfield inspections and issue NOTAMs as needed.
• Oversee facility inspections, maintenance work orders, and safety checks.
• Coordinate wildlife management under approved plans.
• Support Airport Emergency Plan; respond to incidents as directed.
• Provide and track security, driver, and emergency training per regs.
• Screen applicants for security credentials per Airport Security Plan.
• Assist with airport access control procedures and contractor escorts.
• Maintain compliance with federal regulations and update guiding documents.
