Job summary

ERMC Aviation is seeking a Security Officer to manage access control, greet guests, and patrol facilities to maintain safety and security at our New York location. Responsibilities include verifying credentials, monitoring alarms, and coordinating with management on incidents.

The role requires a NYS Security License, local residency, and the ability to lift heavy items, stand and patrol for extended periods.

Qualifications

• NYS Security License required.
• Must be a local (in-state) residence.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English well.
• Must be computer literate and capable of completing online computerized new hire training or any other necessary computer-based training thereafter.
• Must be able to lift / carry / push / pull and move items of 70 pounds and/or more on a regular basis and repetitively lift weights of 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces.
• Must be able to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop on a frequent basis and for extended periods.
• Must be able to work in cramped or high places.

Responsibilities

• Provides consistent access control through verification of guest and employee credentials.
• Performs perimeter, parking lot, and building patrol on foot or in vehicle.
• Greets guests and employees in a cheerful welcoming manner.
• Provides direction and answers questions to assist guests and employees.
• Opens and closes doors/gates, proactively secures and controls areas as needed.
• Admits and controls incoming traffic.
• Remains flexible as environment changes and is ready to take on other duties as assigned.
• Monitoring closed circuit systems and alarms
• Inventory keys, radios and other equipment and issue keys to the contractor.
• Handles all building emergency alarms (i.e., fire, elevator entrapment, intercom and so forth)
• Advises management team of any emergency or security incident for appropriate resolution
• Patrols and documents security related inquiries from tenants, employees, and the general public.
• Performs any other security related assignment as needed
