Position Overview

As a Ramp Agent, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of customer baggage, operating ground service equipment, and coordinating the servicing of arriving and departing aircraft. Your duties include preparing aircraft cabins for departure, assisting with ramp services, and helping customers as needed. You may work with multiple carriers and perform various duties as assigned. The role requires interaction with customers, computer proficiency, the ability to work under stress, and outdoor work in various weather and noise conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely lift, load, unload, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo
• Guide aircraft to and from gate positions to maintain on-time connections
• Protect baggage and equipment from damage, loss, and weather
• Operate ground equipment such as tugs, cargo carts, service trucks, and belt loaders
• Ensure ground equipment is available for upcoming flights
• Prepare aircraft cabins for boarding, including cleaning
• Assist with record-keeping for baggage routing
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain safe working conditions
• Communicate effectively with managers and lead agents
• Report equipment issues promptly
• Perform other duties as assigned, including working with multiple carriers

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to work in extreme weather and confined spaces
• High school diploma or GED
• Fluent in English (reading, speaking, understanding)
• Basic computer skills
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to adapt and manage time effectively
• Pass a background check, fingerprinting, and criminal history review
• Pass a pre-employment drug test
