Job Summary

Ramp agents are responsible for loading and unloading aircraft baggage, guiding planes to and from their gates, operating baggage carts, de-icing planes, and performing other airplane servicing duties. They work in a fast-paced environment and should be comfortable working in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, and heat. The ideal candidate can handle stressful situations, meet strict time constraints, and interact with customers when necessary.

Responsibilities for Ramp Agent

• Safely lift, load, unload, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo between aircraft and airport facilities.
• Guide aircraft to and from gate positions to maintain on-time connections.
• Protect baggage and equipment from damage, loss, and weather conditions.
• Operate ground equipment such as tugs, cargo carts, service trucks, and belt loaders.
• Assist with record-keeping and documentation for baggage routing.
• Follow safety guidelines and ensure a safe working environment.
• Communicate effectively with managers and lead agents regarding daily schedules.
• Report equipment issues promptly to facilitate repairs.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and confined spaces.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and baggage routing.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Pass a physical agility test as required.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
