Job summary

First Meridian Services seeks a Prep Cook to support airport kitchen operations in Nashville. You will wash, chop, and portion ingredients, ensuring accuracy and speed during service while maintaining high safety and cleanliness standards.

The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to shifting schedules, and follow strict food-handling procedures. Starting pay ranges from $19 to $21 per hour with standard benefits for eligible full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• 1+ years’ experience as a cook/prep cook in a full-service restaurant.
• ServSafe Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing.
• Measure and assemble ingredients according to recipes and specifications.
• Portion and package prepared ingredients for service.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Assist with setting up and stocking stations and inventory monitoring.
• Label and store ingredients to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist cooks with basic cooking and dish assembly.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and PPE usage.
