Job description

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Operations team at key strategic locations and serving as the primary point of contact for station leadership. Responsibilities include leading, developing, coaching, and supporting a highly effective team of Operations Agents, while driving operational performance and consistency. A high focus is placed on engaging the team in developing solutions to maintain safe and on-time operations. The Operations Supervisor also coordinates effectively across departments including Airport, OCC, Flight Ops, Inflight, Tech Ops, Catering, and Fueling. Additionally, they maintain strong communication with the local airport authority.

Responsibilities

1. Primary contact for Spirit OCC Director and Station Leadership Team
2. Manage gate operations, including planning for aircraft swaps and delays
3. Coordinate aircraft towing and air-to-ground communications
4. Collaborate with Chief Pilot, Inflight, Tech Ops, and OCC Support Groups
5. Coordinate with local airport authorities, Customs, Border Protection, TSA, and law enforcement
6. Manage Tarmac operations, including weather forecasting, ramp closures, and DOT compliance for delays
7. Communicate actively via Microsoft Teams with all stakeholders, escalating safety or operational concerns as needed
8. Monitor and provide feedback on team productivity and quality
9. Ensure adequate staffing of Operations Coordinators and external partners for safe, reliable operations
10. Support and coach team members to develop a strong, safety-conscious culture
11. Ensure Coordinators are trained and aware of policies and procedures
12. Conduct regular training sessions with team members
13. Assist Coordinators with inquiries from OCC and Station Leadership
14. Build a committed, high-performance team rooted in safety, integrity, and pride
15. Identify common issues and collaborate on solutions with Station Leadership
16. Provide performance reports to leadership as required
17. Perform other duties as assigned; responsibilities may change due to circumstances such as emergencies or operational developments
18. Proficiency in operational tools and software (Ops Web, Gate Manager, Navitaire, Levarti, etc.)
19. Assist with station audits and compliance for internal and external audits
20. Oversee accurate filing and retention of flight departure paperwork

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-3 years of experience in airport operations, airline experience, and leadership roles
• Must possess a valid Driver's License
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint
• Successful completion of required airport training
