Job summary

Provo City is seeking a part-time Airport Operations Specialist to direct airside operations and support airport security and compliance programs. The role includes examining facilities, overseeing certification plans, security risk assessment, and training security staff, with a focus on safe, compliant airport operations.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years of maintenance and heavy equipment experience, and successful DHS background checks, with SIDA badge requirements

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 3 years of progressively responsible maintenance and heavy equipment experience.
• DHS background check required.
• Airport Security Coordinator training and Airport Inspector/ Wildlife Hazard Management on-the-job training must be completed within one month of hire.
• Must obtain and hold an Airport Blue SIDA Badge during employment.
• Airport experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect airport and tenant facilities, access controls, barriers, fences, staffed gates, and construction sites for TSA compliance.
• Execute airport operating certification requirements and plans (various manuals and plans).
• Identify, assess, and determine security risks.
• Ensure electrical systems and equipment, radio, and other airport gear are operational 24/7.
• Handle, inspect, maintain, and schedule maintenance and inventory of tools.
• Train security employees and coordinate with ATC, passengers, and staff.
• May act as lead Airport Security Coordinator for commercial flights.
• Perform other related duties as required.
