Job summary

Provo City Corporation seeks a part-time Airport Operations Specialist to direct airside operations, manage security systems, and maintain compliance with federal and city plans at the Provo airport.

The role requires a high school diploma, DHS background check, and security training; 25 hours per week with potential lead responsibilities and collaboration with City staff and contractors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Three years of progressively responsible maintenance and heavy equipment experience.
• Department of Homeland Security background check required.
• Airport Security Coordinator training and Airport Inspector and Airport Wildlife Hazard Management on‑the‑job training completion required within one month of hire.
• Must obtain and hold an Airport Blue SIDA Badge during employment.
• Airport experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct airside operations and coordinate airport security and facilities.
• Ensure compliance with Airport Certification Manual and other plans.
• Identify security risks and maintain equipment 24/7.
• Process access applications and train security staff.
• Coordinate with Air Traffic Control Tower, passengers, and vendors.
• May act as lead Airport Security Coordinator for flights.
