Job summary

First Meridian Services is seeking a Cook to prepare and cook a variety of dishes in a fast-paced airport kitchen environment. You will work with a team to ensure meals meet recipes and standards, while maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout shifts.

The role requires flexibility for AM/PM shifts, adherence to safety guidelines, and the ability to handle busy periods. Benefits include health coverage, parking or transit support, and paid leave.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• 1+ year of experience as a cook in a full-service restaurant.
• ServSafe Certified a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to restaurant recipes and menu specifications.
• Ensure all food is cooked and presented in a timely manner and meets the restaurant's quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
• Assist in the preparation and portioning of ingredients for use in cooking.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, fryers, and mixers safely and efficiently.
• Monitor food stock levels and communicate shortages to the kitchen manager or supervisor.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely service.
• Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper storage procedures are followed.
• Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper use of PPE.
