Job summary

Oshkosh AeroTech, a leading aviation ground support provider, seeks a Kitchen Maintenance Manager to oversee the Newrest Catering Facilities at IAH Airport in Houston, TX.

You will manage maintenance of kitchen equipment, HVAC, freezers, and food storage, lead site staff, and ensure safety and airline meal service is uninterrupted.

This role requires hands-on leadership, strong organization, and a commitment to reliability, quality, and compliance across facilities operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Valid Driver’s License
• Experience in management, operations, finance, and electrical maintenance
• Strong presentation skills
• Strong understanding (not necessarily hands-on expertise) of: Refrigeration & HVAC systems
• Electrical systems
• Plumbing & general facility maintenance
• Computer skills with knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, project management, and understanding/knowledge of CMMS
• Ability to be badged to work in secure areas of an airport
• Ability to be on-call and work occasional evenings and weekends

Responsibilities

• Ensures kitchen equipment, HVAC systems, freezers, ice plant, and hot food storage units operate efficiently
• Responding to emergency maintenance issues that impact meal delivery to airlines
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the site including safety, accounting, human resources, purchasing, and warehouse functions.
• Calm under pressure – ability to manage urgent, high-impact repairs.
• Provide direction for all maintenance and administrative workers at the site.
• Strive to improve efficiency, profitability, and safety of the operation.
• Coordinate all formal interfaces with and managing customer expectations.
• Ensure consistent leadership and direction for the site.
• Proactive problem solver – must anticipate issues before they disrupt airline meal service.
• Detail-oriented – needs to have full transparency on maintenance activities to our customer.
• Provide budgets and financial reports as required.
• Highly organized – balancing administrative work alongside operations.
• Comply with company safety program and trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
