Job summary

Peraton is hiring a Customer Technical Specialist to support DHS/TSA at airports nationwide, providing hands-on IT and network support for a broad range of devices and systems. The role requires on-site work in Des Moines, IA with up to 25% travel, and involves coordinating with leadership and senior government staff to ensure secure, reliable operations.

Responsibilities include installing and configuring end-user devices, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, and maintaining asset records.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 0 years’ experience or Associate’s degree with 2 years or HS diploma/equivalent with 4 years experience.
U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain/maintain DHS clearance.
Experience with desk-side IT support.
Experience supporting a variety of IT technologies (laptops, mobile devices, etc.).

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on technical support for IT and network systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues remotely or in-person.
Install and configure end-user devices and peripherals.
Support infrastructure components like network backbones and patch panels.
Log and manage updates through a ticketing system; maintain asset records.
Conduct routine IT inventory audits and document cabinet/asset information.
Recommend technology/process improvements to enhance service delivery.
Interact professionally with senior government personnel in high-profile environments.
