Job summary

The Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic A at Colonial Group in San Francisco, CA is responsible for diagnosing and repairing gas and diesel engines, hydraulic, electric and air braking systems on airport GSE to ensure safety and reliability.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting with schematics, performing PMI inspections, completing electronic work orders, and maintaining equipment in safe, working condition while following company policies.

Qualifications

• Own and maintain required personal tools, toolbox, and test equipment.
• Possess/maintain a valid state driver’s license and FAA/Airport identifications.
• Two to five years related experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of airport Ground Service Equipment (GSE) and airport operations is a plus.
• Certified in Air Brake adjustment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions using electrical and hydraulic schematics with test equipment.
• Repair, recondition, and maintain equipment components.
• Prepare and complete electronic work orders.
• Maintain company equipment; kept in clean, orderly, and functioning condition.
• Perform scheduled Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI's).
• Read and understand Manufacturer provided literature.
• Communicate with associates and management regarding equipment conditions, issues, and recommendations.
• Routinely required to work under inclement weather conditions.
• Promote a safe work environment, and comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Able to meet the Station’s attendance standards.
