Job summary

The City of Hickory is seeking an Airport Line Technician to join its on-site operations team in the Hickory area. You will fuel aircraft, perform routine inspections, assist with ground handling and towing, and carry out basic maintenance while following safety and quality standards.

You will interact with pilots, passengers, and airport staff, delivering clear communication and timely support. A high school diploma and valid driver’s license are required, with outdoor work in varying weather

Qualifications

Maintenance & Repair and Preventive Maintenance skills to service aircraft and ground support equipment.
Troubleshooting and Quality Control skills to identify issues, verify work, and maintain standards.
Effective Communication skills to work with pilots, customers and team in a fast-paced setting.
Experience in aviation, transportation, or mechanical fields with familiarity of airport safety procedures is beneficial.
High school diploma or equivalent, valid driver's license, ability to work outdoors in varying weather, and ability to lift/move equipment safely.

Responsibilities

Support daily airport operations, including fueling aircraft, routine inspections, and ground handling.
Perform basic maintenance and safety checks on equipment and monitor ramps for hazards.
Communicate clearly with pilots, passengers and airport staff to provide timely support.
Coordinate with maintenance teams and maintain records as needed.
