Job summary

The City of Hickory is seeking an Airport Line Technician to provide safe and efficient airport line services at Hickory Regional Airport. The role involves inspecting runways, fueling planes, directing aircraft, and coordinating with the Customer Service desk to fulfill service orders.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday with occasional after-hours or weekend coverage. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid NC driver’s license, with safety-sensitive status and random drug

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the State of North Carolina.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily runway inspections, verifying lights, signs, and markers are visible and functioning.
• Moves planes in and out of hangars and fuels planes as directed by the pilot.
• Directs aircraft to the proper parking area and secures aircraft.
• Takes service orders from pilots/customers and communicates with the Customer Service desk.
• Fuels planes and provides GPU, lavatory, and other ground services as needed.
• Performs safety inspections of facilities and equipment including fuel farms, trucks, towers and hangars.
• Reports incidents involving accidents, damage, or security issues to airport management.
• Maintains and cleans the FBO facility, ATC Tower, and hangars.
