Job summary

The Airport Operations Specialist position at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center involves hands-on maintenance and inspections at the University Airport. You will perform airfield, building, and grounds inspections, and assist with vehicle maintenance, security duties, and special events in a 24/7 operation.

Required are a valid driver's license, FAA airport driver testing within 60 days, and knowledge of relevant FAR parts. CDL and AA AE ASOS familiarity are desirable.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must pass FAA airport driver's test within 60 days of employment.
• Desired: CDL.
• AAAE Basic ASOS knowledge.
• Familiarity with FAR Parts 36, 77, 14 CFR Part 139, and 150 series Advisory Circulars.
• Working knowledge of general trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical).

Responsibilities

• Performs facility maintenance at University Airport as required for an FAA certificated airport.
• Conducts airfield inspections and maintenance.
• Conducts building inspections and maintenance.
• Conducts airport grounds inspections and maintenance.
• Assists with vehicle inspections and maintenance; security and public safety tasks.
• Operates construction equipment and vehicles; snow removal equipment for runways and grounds.
• Assists with special events at the airport.
