Job summary

City of Lynchburg is seeking an Airport Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate repair, maintenance, and construction of airport facilities and airfield systems at Lynchburg Regional Airport. Reports to Deputy Airport Director.

The role oversees skilled and semi-skilled staff, ensures safety procedures, conducts inspections, and participates in snow removal and emergency maintenance. Requires high school diploma, extensive supervisory experience, Virginia driver's license, and FAA eligibility;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with extensive experience in electrical systems operation and maintenance and supervisory experience.
• Must be able to work a rotating on-call schedule and pass FAA employment requirements.
• Valid Virginia driver's license or equivalent and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and participates in repair, maintenance, and construction of airport facilities and airfield systems.
• Tests equipment for proper operation and safety; maintains inspection logs.
• Develops and implements preventive maintenance programs for airport equipment.
• Supervises staff and ensures safety procedures are followed.
• Performs snow removal operations on runways, taxiways, and adjacent areas.
• Responds to emergency maintenance calls and guides contractors as needed.
