Job summary

RC Construction Co., Inc. is seeking a Site Safety Specialist for our Boeing project in North Charleston, SC.

This role partners with project management, superintendents, and crews to identify hazards, implement controls, conduct inspections, and promote a strong safety culture in a heavy civil/airport environment. Responsibilities include daily site inspections, safety meetings, JHA/JSA development, PPE oversight, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and airport requirements.

Qualifications

• 5 years of safety experience in heavy civil, highway, airport, paving, utility, earthwork, or similar construction environments.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards.
• Ability to read and understand project plans, specifications, safety plans, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections and document findings, corrective actions, and follow-up activities.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure OSHA compliance and airport safety requirements.
• Support implementation and enforcement of the project-specific Safety and Health Plan.
• Conduct and document safety meetings, toolbox talks, pre-task planning, and JHAs/JSA.
• Identify unsafe conditions and communicate corrective actions to supervisors and crews.
• Assist with developing Job Hazard Analyses and other safety plans.
• Monitor high-risk activities including excavation, heavy equipment, and work at heights.
• Maintain safety records, inspection reports, and regulatory documentation.
