Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. is seeking a limited-term, full-time civil engineering intern to perform construction inspection on airport projects headquartered in Seattle, WA, with work across OR/WA.

The position runs May/June 2027 through August/September 2027 and requires a valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks. Responsibilities

• Assist engineers, technicians and project managers on civil airport projects (taxiways, runways, aprons).
• Perform measurements and prepare pay estimates and project reports.
• Conduct field inspection and documentation on construction sites.
• Support technical research and writing tasks as needed.
• Handle additional tasks as assigned.

As a result of our expansive growth, we have a position available for a limited-term, full-time civil engineering intern to perform construction inspection on construction sites for airport projects based in Seattle, WA (and other various project sites located within the states of OR and WA) starting in May/June 2027 and ending in August/September 2027.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting engineers, technicians, and construction managers with civil airport engineering projects in the following areas: taxiways, runways, aprons, etc.
• Performing measurements and quantity calculations and preparing pay estimates
• Assisting with project report preparation
• Performing field inspection and documentation
• Some technical research and writing
• Other tasks as assigned

A valid driver's license, positive driving record, and the ability to pass background checks to gain access to airport sites is required. Frequent local travel to construction sites and other Pacific Northwest locations (may also include overnight stays) will be required.

Successful candidates must have:

• Completed at least two (2) semesters of college-level coursework in civil engineering from an accredited college or university by date of hire

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all the following:

• Previous internships involving construction, DOT projects, and/or civil site inspections
• Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and Civil3D software
• Understanding of basic grading and testing processes
• Knowledge of airport planning and/or design
• Civil engineering coursework

Mead & Hunt will not sponsor a visa (H-1B, etc.) for this position.

Hourly Rate Range: $23.00 - $27.00 - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
