Job summary

AVFLIGHT CORPORATION is seeking a Cargo Operations Manager for Detroit Metro to oversee daily cargo activities on-site, ensuring safe, organized handling and compliance with SOPs. You will plan, schedule, and train staff while maintaining a productive workplace.

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, plus airline/cargo experience and supervisory skills. Expect varied hours, strong leadership, and close coordination with customers and airport authorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience.
• Operational cargo and/or airline experience preferred.
• Warehousing / Cross-Dock experience a plus.
• Prior supervisory experience.
• Proficient with MS Office and iCargo.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day cargo operations to ensure safe, efficient service and adherence to standards.
• Provide leadership and direction to deliver reliable operations and service.
• Lead and direct all warehouse operations.
• Coordinate with customers regarding pickups and deliveries, process payments/refunds as needed.
• Lead shift briefings with supervisors and employees; ensure compliance with SOPs and safety procedures.
• Manage time and attendance, PTO, scheduling, and overtime for direct reports.
• Maintain building and equipment maintenance and a clean, professional work environment.
