Qualifications

• Warehousing / Cross-Dock experience a plus.
• Prior supervisory experience.
• Proficient with MS Office and iCargo.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day cargo operations to ensure safe, efficient service and adherence to standards.
• Provide leadership and direction to deliver reliable operations and service.
• Lead and direct all warehouse operations.
• Coordinate with customers regarding pickups and deliveries, process payments/refunds as needed.
• Lead shift briefings with supervisors and employees; ensure compliance with SOPs and safety procedures.
• Manage time and attendance, PTO, scheduling, and overtime for direct reports.
• Maintain building and equipment maintenance and a clean, professional work environment.

General Purpose of Job:

The Cargo Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily cargo operations ensuring safe, organized, and efficient handling procedures. The Cargo Operations Manager is to ensure adherence to cargo handling instructions and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize operational performance, plan processes and ensure adherence to SOPs. The role is also responsible for the strategic planning and management of people and will work closely with the operations and training supervisors to schedule, train and employ team members while maintaining a healthy, safe, and productive work environment.

Duties

• Responsible for the day-to-day safe and efficient operation of cargo operations while ensuring customer service standards and contractual services are met


• Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to deliver consistent, safe, reliable operations and service


• Lead and direct all warehouse operations


• Correspond with customers regarding pickup and deliveries, accept payments and process refunds where necessary


• Lead and conduct shift briefings with subordinate supervisors and employees


• Comply with and ensure accountability for Company policies and procedures related to customer service standards, ramp, safety, and security procedures


• Ensure a culture that promotes safety through daily observations, shift briefings, routine audits, monthly safety meetings, training, and documented safety procedures


• Conduct incident investigations to determine root causes


• Manage, review and conduct discussions with direct reports and organize time and attendance, PTO, scheduling, and managing overtime


• Oversee and ensure timely and proper maintenance of building and office infrastructure as well as GSE equipment


• Maintain a professional, organized and clean work environment


• Develop and maintain good relations with customers and airport authorities


• Willingness to perform other duties as requested or assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university or five (5) related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Operational cargo and/or airline experience preferred


• Warehousing / Cross-Dock experience a plus


• Prior experience in a supervisory role


• Ability to work in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) and operational software systems, such as iCargo


• Excellent communication and leadership skills


• Ability to delegate responsibilities and tasks


• High degree of customer service and quality awareness


• Ability to work effectively under time constraints


• Must be available to work varied hours depending on operational need including weekends and holidays and deputize when away


• Must pass background check, pre-employment drug test and security threat assessment


• Must have authorization to work in the U.S.


• Must have a valid Driver's License


• Must pass airline required trainings

Work Environment

The Cargo Manager will work primarily in an airport environment, which requires the ability to manage operations seven days a week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on operational needs. The role involves both indoor and outdoor tasks, subject to varying weather conditions and extreme temperature ranges. This position is 100% on-site. Occasional travel (approximately 5%) may be required.
