Job summary

The City of Houston's Badging Office at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is seeking an Airport Operations Assistant to support security, badging, and customer service duties for HAS operations.

You will process badges, capture biometric data, verify background checks, and ensure correct access levels while maintaining a friendly, professional demeanor in a busy office environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's Degree in related fields listed in the job posting.
• No experience is required; para-professional or professional experience in airport operations/security may substitute for the above education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
• Requires a valid Class C Texas driver’s license and compliance with the City of Houston’s policy on driving (AP 2-2).
• Preference given to applicants with experience in office management, badging processing of biographical and biometrical information; familiarity with ProWatch; multitasking; strong communication; data entry; attention to detail; and fraud-detection knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Process badging applications including new, renewal, replacement, lost/stolen, and damaged badges.
• Capture biographic information and biometric data using ProWatch/capture devices.
• Verify passed background checks prior to badge issuance.
• Monitor, verify, and update badge access levels for multiple airports.
• Coordinate with Customs and Border Protection for CBP access seals.
• Respond to routine customer questions and assist with badge life-cycle tasks.
