Job summary

Unifi Aviation, LLC is seeking a baggage handler in Houston to manage the intake and loading of bags onto aircraft. You will read and verify city and flight numbers, organize bag loads, and ensure secure handling of all items in a safety-conscious environment.

Responsibilities include scanning bags, coordinating with TSA, and maintaining efficient, professional interaction with customers while adhering to TSA, DOT, FAA, and OSHA rules.

Qualifications

• Local resident in-state requirement.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Must complete ramp and SIDA training for airport security identification.

Responsibilities

• Verify city and flight number for every bag to ensure correct loading.
• Sort and prioritize baggage load for delivery to the proper aircraft.
• Ensure loading of customer bags to the correct aircraft.
• Comply with all TSA, DOT, FAA, OSHA safety rules and applicable laws.
• Operate scanner and manage baggage flow in the bag room.
• Coordinate with TSA for processing of bags and priority items.

Responsibiliti es Ensures proper conveyances set up to sort and distribute incoming bags. Reads and verifies the city and flight number for every bag to ensure correct loading of customer bags. Organizes and prioritizes baggage load for delivery to the proper aircraft for loading. Ensures compliance with all TSA, DOT, FAA, OSHA safety rules, regulations, and applicable laws. Accepts responsibility for the safety of the scanner and associated equipment. Scans each bag as it arrives at the bag room. Forwards and receives bags to/from TSA for processing. Ensures appropriate attention is paid to priority items. Handles customer interaction in an efficient, effective, and professional manner. Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position. Qualifications Must be a local (in-state) resident. High School diploma or GED. Valid In-State Driver?s License. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen. Ability to pass up to a 10-year background check. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have the authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986. Must complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security. Must be able to lift/carry / push/pull and move items of 70 pounds and/or more regularly and repetitively lift weights of 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces.
