LSG Sky Chefs in Sacramento, CA, is seeking a full-time cook to prepare dishes from scratch for a high-volume catering operation, with plating to specification and support for a fast-paced kitchen. The shift starts at 4 am and includes overtime and weekend work.

Ideal candidates have a culinary degree or certification, 2+ years of experience, strong knife skills, and a solid understanding of food safety and HACCP. Reading/writing English is required, and lifting 50+ lbs is expected.

Qualifications

• Culinary degree or cooking certification preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience cooking in a high volume institutional catering environment preferred.
• Strong efficiency in knife skills.
• Must be able to read, write and understand English.
• Must be able to lift and push 50+ lbs.
• Must be able to stand, bend, lift and move intermittently during shift of 8+ hours.
• Must be flexible and able to react to changing priorities.
• Must understand various cooking techniques and follow recipes.
• Must have strong organizational skills.
• Must have a strong understanding of food safety and HACCP regulations.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparing complete dishes from scratch in a wide variety of cuisines; assembling, plating with a high level of consistency and in accordance with customer specifications.
• Overtime is mandatory
• Must be able to work weekends.
