Job summary

Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, AL is seeking an Airframe Structural Liaison Engineer to join the Engineering department. You will be the interface between the Chief Engineer/Design Office and Manufacturing/Quality, handling repairs, design updates and technical justifications for airframe structures.

Ideal candidates hold a B.S./M.S. in aerospace or related field with 5 years in aviation, preferably on Airbus aircraft, and are willing to travel up to 10% domestically and

Qualifications

• Degree in aerospace, mechanical or aircraft construction engineering (B.S./M.S.).
• Minimum 5 years in aviation with preference for Airbus aircraft.
• Ability to train toward and obtain Design Office and Chief Engineering delegations.
• Experience in design of metallic and/or composite airframe structures.
• Knowledge in fatigue and damage tolerance justification.
• Knowledge of stress calculations/justifications.
• Knowledge of aerospace materials and corrosion protection/prevention.
• Knowledge of repair design and stress principles.
• Knowledge of Aircraft configuration management rules.
• Familiarity with AIRBUS internal procedures, processes and tools.
• Demonstrated success in identifying and solving problems.
• Eligible for employment in the US; willingness to travel up to 10% domestically/internationally.

Responsibilities

• Accountability for approved repair, rework and troubleshooting instructions.
• Create/approve/authorize design solutions and structure justifications.
• Represent Chief Engineer and design offices with suppliers and operations.
• Define technical solutions for NC treatment on metallic/composite structure.
• Provide engineering support during FAL US manufacturing and flight line activities.
• Present technical explanations to customers and internal teams.
