Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is expanding its Hot Section Engineering team in Asheville, NC, seeking experienced structures engineers to analyze and design the next generation of airfoil hardware for commercial and military programs. You will use FEMs, living analyses, and write technical reports.

The engineer will coordinate with an integrated product team and communicate progress to program groups and external customers, contributing to discipline health within HSE.

Qualifications

• BS in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• 5+ years of engineering or aerospace experience, or 3+ years with an advanced degree.
• Ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams.
• Experience including analytical methods (FEA), hand calculations, and spreadsheet methods.
• Experience analyzing strength, stress, deflection, vibration, fatigue life, and damage tolerance.

Responsibilities

• Execute FEMs and validate structural integrity of Hot Section airfoil hardware.
• Perform living analyses and prepare technical reports.
• Communicate progress and status to program groups, senior management, and customers.
• Be part of the broader HSE community and support discipline health.
