Job summary

City of Prescott seeks an Airport Operations Technician to perform daily safety and security inspections and support maintenance at Prescott Regional Airport. The role includes monitoring compliance with FAA regulations, managing NOTAMs, and coordinating with tenants and emergency responders.

Responsibilities include responding to incidents, conducting field maintenance, supervising wildlife reports, and maintaining logs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1 year airfield operations/maintenance experience or equivalent training.
• Completion of the Airport Operations training program within 3 months of hire.
• Possess an Arizona driver’s license; pass TSA security checks and background investigations; obtain AAAE ACE designation within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily airport safety and security inspections of facilities, perimeter, grounds, and properties; maintain logs and write reports.
• Perform FAA/compliance inspections and monitor NOTAMs; interact with tenants and customers.
• Inspect airfield surfaces, lighting, signage, and navigational aids.
• Operate heavy machinery and perform general field maintenance.
• Respond to aircraft incidents and activate the Airport Emergency Plan as needed.
• Coordinate with Air Traffic Control to maintain a safe operating environment.
• Maintain wildlife logs and prepare regular reports.
• Perform administrative duties and generate reports.
