Job summary

City of Manchester, NH is seeking an Airport Operations & Maintenance Specialist to perform maintenance, repair and construction of airfield facilities, including snow removal and equipment operation. The role requires adherence to FAA guidelines and coordination with control tower.

The position involves on-site work in varying weather, with responsibilities for security, inspections, and emergency response. CDL-B within six months may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0–2 years of experience in general construction and heavy equipment operation, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair and construction of airfield facilities.
• Operate heavy equipment listed (Jet Air six-wheel truck, street sweeper, backhoe, loader, grader, bucket, dump truck, deicer, snow equipment).
• Monitor safety and compliance with FAA guidelines and airport rules.
• Respond to airfield emergencies and act as Airport representative until relieved.
• Enforce Airport security rules and coordinate with contractors on site.
• Coordinate parking and ground handling of charter and unscheduled aircraft.
