Job summary

Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority is seeking an Airfield Maintenance Technician to keep the airfield safe and functional. You will operate a range of maintenance equipment, perform inspections, and support winter weather operations in a dynamic airport environment.

The role emphasizes outdoor work, teamwork, and adherence to FAA/DOT safety standards, with a competitive hourly pay and robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating maintenance equipment preferred.
• Experience with mowing, snow and ice removal, asphalt or concrete maintenance is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Maintain airport grounds through mowing, landscaping and general upkeep.
• Operate trucks, tractors, trailers, mowers and specialized maintenance equipment.
• Repair and maintain runways, taxiways, roads and other surfaces.
• Conduct airfield, fence, drainage and infrastructure inspections.
• Assist with pavement markings and runway surface maintenance.
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on tools and equipment.
• Support snow and ice removal operations during winter weather events.
