Job summary

The Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority (MKAA) is seeking a Building Services Specialist to keep McGhee Tyson Airport clean, safe, and welcoming for travelers and staff in Alcoa, TN. This full-time, on-site role supports the airport's operations and passenger experience.

No specialized certifications are required. Ideal for those starting a career in facilities or custodial services, you’ll join a team dedicated to world-class airport environments and East Tennessee's gateway.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Less than one year of custodial or related experience.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain terminal floors, carpets, restrooms, and common areas.
• Empty trash and recycling receptacles.
• Clean windows, mirrors, fixtures, stainless surfaces, and walls.
• Strip, polish, and maintain floor finishes.
• Operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning solutions safely.
• Assist passengers with directions and general information.
• Monitor facilities for spills and safety hazards.
• Notify leadership of maintenance needs and repairs.
• Help with snow removal and de-icing around entrances.
• Operate recycling compactors and balers.

Your Flight Plan (Key Responsibilities)
