Job summary

Norfolk Airport Authority is seeking an Airfield Operations Officer in Norfolk, VA. The role supports the Operations Manager to ensure daily FAR Part 139 compliance and conducts inspections of runways, taxiways, and other facilities.

Tasks include NOTAM issuance, emergency planning alignment, and coordination with airfield partners. Applicants should have 4 years in aviation, a BA in aviation management or equivalent, and the ability to obtain a SIDA badge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aviation management or closely related field.
• Highschool diploma or GED.
• Four years of aviation-related experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SIDA badge and security prerequisites.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with FAA Part 139 regulations as part of daily operations.
• Inspect airport facilities and coordinate corrective actions with relevant managers.
• Prepare and verify records related to Airside Operations’ compliance; issue NOTAMs when hazards exist.
• Maintain and update manuals and plans (ACM, AEP, Wildlife Hazard Management Plan).
• Provide escort and training for authorized vehicles and personnel as required.
