Job summary

Pittsburgh International Airport in Pittsburgh, PA, seeks an Equipment Operator C1A to operate backhoes, loaders, excavators, and other heavy equipment for field maintenance, paving, and road work.

Under supervision, you will perform preventative maintenance, support airfield and facilities maintenance, and assist in snow removal. A high school diploma or GED, two years of heavy equipment experience, and a PA CDL are required. FAA procedures knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of FAA ground control and radio procedures.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Ability to work under adverse climatic conditions for extended hours.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team on snow removal or other projects.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including backhoes, front-end loaders, and excavators for excavation and repair work.
• Operate high pressure water sewer cleaning equipment and pumps for manhole work.
• Operate loaders, skids, and paving equipment for maintenance and in-house projects.
• Perform equipment preventative maintenance and safety compliance tasks.
• Work in a 24/7 operation and respond to emergencies or peak periods.
