Job summary

The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities, Airfield Maintenance in Anchorage seeks an Equipment Operator Journey 1 to operate heavy equipment on the airport airfield and adjacent roadways, including graders, loaders, dump trucks, snow removal machines, and rollers. Residency is required for Alaska residents.

A Class A Alaska CDL (with endorsements) and successful completion of a background/drug test are mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment on airfield and airport property in a safe and efficient manner.
• Remove snow from airfield surfaces, parking lots, roadways, and sidewalks.
• Perform equipment maintenance, emergency repairs, and vegetation management as needed.
• Conduct security inspections, maintain airport lighting systems, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
