Job summary

The Municipality of Anchorage is seeking an airport equipment operator at Merrill Field Airport. The role involves operating light to heavy equipment, performing routine maintenance, and supporting facility projects. Applicants must have a High School diploma or GED and two years of equipment operation experience. A valid Alaska Class B CDL with tanker endorsement is required, with a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience operating equipment such as graders, loaders, snow blowers, runway broom, sweepers, light/medium trucks, and steam cleaners preferred.
• Valid Alaska Class B CDL with tanker endorsement, no airbrake restrictions, and clean driving record at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate light, medium, and heavy airport equipment under airport management direction.
• Perform basic maintenance on airport equipment and assist senior technicians on facility maintenance projects.
• Assist with painting, plumbing, and electrical tasks; support NOTAM procedures and safe flight operations.
• Adhere to FAA and OSHA regulations and MOA safety program; complete background checks and vehicle-related requirements.
