North Slope Borough — Public Works is seeking a qualified Heavy Equipment Operator to support maintenance of roads, airports, and landfills. The role involves operating heavy machinery, inspecting equipment, and maintaining logs; travel to North Slope communities may be required.

A valid Alaska CDL with X/N endorsements and Hazwoper certification within probation are preferred. The job may include evenings, holidays, and weekend shifts with potential 24-hour on-call status and non-traditional

Formación

• Two years of experience with heavy equipment operations and maintenance.
• Valid Alaska Drivers License and Alaska Commercial Drivers License with X and N Endorsement Code.
• Ability to obtain 40-Hour Hazwoper certification within probationary period.
• Documentation of immunization as required (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Hepatitis A/B).

Responsabilidades

• Operate heavy equipment and machinery in accordance with safety regulations and procedures.
• Maintain roads, airport runways, access roads and landfill areas.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment prior to operations; complete shift inspection checklist.
• Maintain vehicle and equipment logs, inspection forms and daily trip reports.
• Assist with fuel deliveries to facilities and residences as needed.
• May load/unload aircraft and assist with supervision of loading/unloading.
