Job summary

TYLin is seeking an experienced Airfield Senior Civil Engineer to lead planning, design, and delivery of complex airport infrastructure projects. You will serve as the airfield discipline lead, coordinating with aviation planners, architects, and construction professionals to deliver safe, sustainable facilities.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, client interactions, and mentorship, with opportunities for growth across TYLin's aviation practice worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer license required.
• Approximately 12+ years of progressive civil engineering experience with airport/aviation focus.
• Experience with runway and taxiway geometry, grading, drainage, pavement, utilities, and landside improvements.
• Strong knowledge of FAA design standards, Advisory Circulars, airport development requirements, and AIP processes.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D; capable of leading design production.
• Excellent communication and coordination with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex airfield and airport civil engineering projects from concept through construction.
• Serve as the airfield civil discipline lead on multidisciplinary project teams, coordinating with planners, architects, engineers, and construction professionals.
• Develop and review airfield geometrics, alignments, grading, drainage, stormwater management, pavements, utilities, erosion control, and parking layouts.
• Prepare and oversee plans, specifications, estimates, design criteria, bid documents, and construction phasing plans.
• Apply FAA standards and required regulatory guidelines to project development and delivery.
• Provide construction-phase services, site observations, RFI responses, and design-change support.
• Mentor and develop engineers, promoting technical excellence across teams.
