Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an Aircraft Structures Technician to inspect, repair, and replace sheet metal structures on commercial aircraft. The role requires hands-on workmanship with airframes, including larger platforms from Boeing and Airbus, and involvement in the B777 Cargo Conversion Program.

The candidate should have extensive experience in sheet metal work, reading blueprints, and applying layout techniques, with a focus on safety and quality in an MRO environment.

Qualifications

• 35+ years of experience in aircraft structures, sheet metal repair, and fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and replace aircraft sheet metal structures per manuals and FAA regulations.
• Read blueprints, sketches, and product specifications to determine methods and materials.
• Plan, lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal parts using knowledge of materials and machining processes.
• Select the appropriate gauge and type of sheet metal and nonmetallic materials according to product specs.
• Lay out and mark dimensions using scribes, dividers, squares, and rulers with shop math.
• Maintain a clean and orderly shop; perform maintenance on equipment.
• Remove components and log entries in the Component Removal Log with identification tags.
• Work on Boeing and Airbus platforms; support B777 Cargo Conversion Program as assigned.
