Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Structures Technician to inspect, repair, and replace aircraft sheet metal structures on commercial airframes, including major components and cargo conversion work. The role emphasizes reading blueprints, fabricating parts, and performing installations to FAA specifications.

Candidates should have 3–5+ years in aircraft structures, hands-on riveting and fabrication skills, and experience with Boeing/Airbus platforms.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in aircraft structures and sheet metal repair.
• Hands-on experience with Boeing and Airbus airframes is preferred.
• Proficiency in riveting, drilling, and structural modifications.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and product specifications for aircraft structures.
• Experience in an MRO or aircraft modification environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and replace aircraft sheet metal structures following maintenance manuals and FAA regulations.
• Read blueprints and specifications to determine fabrication methods and materials.
• Lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal parts and assemblies.
• Select appropriate sheet metal gauge and types (stainless steel, steel, aluminum) and nonmetallics per specs.
• Maintain a clean and orderly shop environment and logs for component removal.
