Job summary

Northrop Grumman is hiring an Aircraft Structures Mechanic – Level 1/2 for the Clearfield, UT site. The role involves assembling major structures like fuselage panels and subassemblies, reading blueprints, and ensuring quality with precise measurements. This is a B-Shift (Mon–Thu 4pm–2:30am) with potential for overtime and bonuses.

Level 1 requires ≤1 year of relevant experience or equivalent training; Level 2 requires ~2 years. U.S. citizenship and Secret clearance are required to begin.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 9 months of structures/composites experience or completion of relevant course.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level clearance and meet program access requirements.
• U.S. Citizenship required for clearance and ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand blueprints and translate them into fabrications of structural assemblies.
• Align parts on jigs using templates and fixtures.
• Perform part-fitting operations including drilling, riveting, and reaming.
• Measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
• Modify assemblies to incorporate design changes and verify quality per control procedures.
• Operate within manufacturing shop controls and maintain PPE usage.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in production methods and equipment performance.
