Job summary

West Star Aviation in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Paint Technician on the 2nd shift (Mon-Thu, 3pm-1am) to apply primers and top coats on aircraft, perform masking, sanding, and layout work, and ensure finishes meet our high quality standards.

Our crew enjoys formal airframe training, a shift premium of 10–15%, paid lunch, 3 day weekends, weekly pay, and a benefits package that starts at hire, including medical, dental and 401K match.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent. Vo-tech school in paint or on-the-job experience is preferred but not required.
• A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Masking and taping aircraft parts to avoid overspray.
• Sanding primer.
• Blowing and cleaning aircraft with thinner.
• Washing the paint booth.
• Applying all layers of paint to include top coat.
• Laying out stripe and design schemes.
• Prep and scuff paint to get ready for trim.
• Re-masking aircraft and detail work
• Inspect completed paint jobs.
• Paint mixing and paint matching
