Job summary

Kay and Associates, Inc. seeks a mid-level Aircraft Mechanic II focused on corrosion control for H-1 helicopters. The role supports MAW FRSS corrosion control, tool room, and O-Level maintenance on H-1 aircraft in accordance with NAMP and contract requirements.

You will perform corrosion control tasks, attend to daily inspections, and lead lower-level mechanics while maintaining quality and safety standards in a fast-paced aviation environment.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years’ H-1 rotary wing experience preferred.
  • Seven or more years’ rotary wing maintenance experience preferred.
  • Familiarity and ability to use NAVAIR IETMS preferred.
  • Four or more years’ experience with NALCOMIS/OOMA preferred.
  • Automated Track and Balancing System (ATABS) Course (NATEC provides) preferred.
  • Advanced Corrosion Control Course/Paint and Final Finish preferred.
  • Individual (I) Aircraft Maintenance Qualification required.
  • Basic Corrosion Control Course required.
  • Previously certified H-1 CDQAR required.
  • Three years aviation maintenance experience required.

Responsibilities

Summary

Provides support to 3 rd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS) Marine Light Attack Helicopter (HMLAT)-303 Corrosion Control, Tool Room, and Organizational Level (O-Level) Maintenance on H-1 aircraft in accordance with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP), applicable technical data, and federal contract requirements.

Mid-level aircraft mechanic supporting H-1 aircraft corrosion control operations.

Essential Functions
  • Performs aircraft maintenance functions of the Line, Corrosion Control, and Aircraft Organizational Level maintenance
  • Scheduledand unscheduled maintenance supportfor assigned H-1 aircraft
  • Performs aircraft Daily Turn Around Inspections
  • Performs aircraft launch and recovery operations
  • Maintain aircraft and aeronautical equipment to continuously support the assigned readiness posture outlined in in the activities plan and daily flight schedule
  • Aircraft maintenanceaction documentation via logs, records, forms, andelectronic means
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft electrical and avionics on flight controls, pneumatic, hydraulic, and ventilation and heating systems.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, machines, specific and general aviation test measurement and diagnostic equipment, and sets kits and outfits (SKO).
  • Inspect, repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft components/subcomponents to include rigging of flight control.
  • Read and interpret manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing and walking for extended periods, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined or elevated spaces. Requires sufficient manual dexterity and vision to use tools and inspect aircraft systems. Must be able to work in high-noise environments, wear required PPE, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Compensation
  • $43.57/hour + $6.25 H&W
