Job summary

Kay and Associates, Inc. provides mid-level aircraft maintenance support for P-8 series aircraft at VP-69 NAS Whidbey, WA, performing complex maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repair and modifications in accordance with NAMP and contract requirements.

The role involves documenting actions in logs and maintenance systems, potentially leading junior mechanics, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality programs, tools control and FOD standards on site.

Qualifications

• 6+ years airframe, avionics, or powerplant aviation maintenance experience.
• 4+ years P-8A or similar aircraft maintenance experience.
• Must be able to work day, swing or mid shift as required.
• Former CDI/CDQAR preferred
• Former Safe for Flight preferred
• Secret clearance required

Summary

Provides support of Organizational-level aircraft maintenance support on P-8 series aircraft in accordance with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP), applicable technical data, and federal contract requirements.

Mid-level aircraft mechanic supporting contract maintenance on P-8 series aircraft at Squadron VP-69.

Essential Functions

• Perform complex aircraft maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repair, and modification
• Document maintenance actions in aircraft logs and approved maintenance systems
• May lead and provide technical guidance to lower-level mechanics
• Ensure compliance with Tool Control, FOD, safety, and quality programs

Duties

• Perform general aircraft maintenance

• Flight Line Operations/Functions
• Support Equipment (SE) Operations and Inspections
• Aircraft Movement
• Corrosion Control & Spot Treatment
• Troubleshooting
• Preservation and De-preservation
• Ordnance Handling
• Technical Directive Compliance and Modifications
• Perform and inspect airframe, flight control, hydraulic, pneumatic, and landing gear systems
• Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and directives
• Document maintenance actions per NAMP requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing and walking for extended periods, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined or elevated spaces. Requires sufficient manual dexterity and vision to use tools and inspect aircraft systems. Must be able to work in high-noise environments, wear required PPE, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Compensation

• $39.58/hour + $2.65 H&W

Contract Contingency
