Job summary

Kay and Associates, Inc. is seeking a Senior Aircraft Maintenance Specialist to support P-8 series aircraft at VP-69 NAS Whidbey, WA.

This full-time, on-site role requires extensive airframe, avionics, and powerplant experience and a Secret clearance; CAC may be required per contract. You will perform complex maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and modifications; document actions in official logs; and lead junior mechanics.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of airframe, avionics, or powerplant aviation maintenance experience.
  • 5+ years P-8A or similar aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Secret clearance required; ability to work day, swing, or mid shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex aircraft maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repair, and modification.
  • Document maintenance actions in aircraft logs and approved maintenance systems.
  • Lead and provide technical guidance to lower-level mechanics.
  • Ensure compliance with Tool Control, FOD, safety, and quality programs.
  • Perform and inspect airframe, flight control, hydraulic, pneumatic, and landing gear systems.
  • Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and directives; document per NAMP.

Summary

Provides support of Organizational-level aircraft maintenance support on P-8 series aircraft in accordance with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP), applicable technical data, and federal contract requirements.

Senior-level aircraft mechanic supporting contract maintenance on P-8 series aircraft at Squadron VP-69.

Essential Functions

  • Perform complex aircraft maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repair, and modification
  • Document maintenance actions in aircraft logs and approved maintenance systems
  • Lead and provide technical guidance to lower-level mechanics
  • Ensure compliance with Tool Control, FOD, safety, and quality programs

  • Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and directives
  • Document maintenance actions per NAMP requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 7+ years airframe, avionics, or powerplant aviation maintenance experience
  • 5+ years P-8A or similar aircraft maintenance experience
  • Must be able to work day, swing or mid shift as required
  • Former CDI/CDQAR preferred
  • Former Safe for Flight preferred
  • Secret clearance required

Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing and walking for extended periods, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined or elevated spaces. Requires sufficient manual dexterity and vision to use tools and inspect aircraft systems. Must be able to work in high-noise environments, wear required PPE and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Compensation

  • $41.33/hour + $2.65 H&W

Benefits:
Employees are offered medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees can enroll in KAI’s 401k plan. Employees have a minimum of eleven paid holidays. Vacation/PTO IAW with applicable wage determination
