Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic I specialized in Airframe/Structural, Landing Gear, Launch/Arresting, Wing/Pylon Fold; Hydraulic/Pneumatic, and mechanical Flight Control Systems to support NAS Whidbey Island maintenance operations. Candidates should have EA-18G experience and a solid background in repairing engines, sheet metal, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

Qualifications

  • US Citizenship is required for facility credentials.
  • High School diploma or equivalent and three years of job-related experience.
  • Three years F/A-18E/F or EA-18G experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex malfunctions and perform Organizational Level maintenance.
  • Maintenance actions in support of the EA-18G aircraft.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials and pass security requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Makes repairs to aircraft and follows direction of higher graded workers.
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, APU, and ventilation and heating systems.
  • Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units.
  • Reads and interprets manuals, service bulletins, and data to determine repair methods.
  • Replaces or repairs worn or damaged components such as carburetors, alternators, magnetos, fuel controls, and engine gearboxes.
  • Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring and aircraft accessories and performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight inspections.
  • Performs line maintenance, servicing engines and airframe components, and assists with jacking and towing.
  • Maintains maintenance records and ensures work is satisfactorily completed.
  • May require FAA licensing and specialization in related disciplines.
