West Star Aviation is seeking a Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician in Grand Junction, CO. You will lead a team of technicians to deliver high-quality results, manage project flow, and ensure timely completion of tasks while upholding FAA regulations and safety standards.

The role requires 8+ years in aviation maintenance and 4+ years in program-specific airframes, with a focus on mentorship, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and FAA Airframe and Powerplant License required.
• 8+ years of aviation maintenance experience preferred.
• 4+ years in program-specific airframes.
• Ability to supervise small teams with minimal supervision.
• Must follow FAA guidelines and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to complete assigned jobs and tasks, using good judgment.
• Implement a strong turnover of work to the next shift.
• Aim to reduce aircraft turn time within your area of responsibility.
• Train and mentor technicians on projects.
• Supervise team members in daily operations and duties.
• Perform general mechanical functions on aircraft and related systems.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate systems on the aircraft as designated.
• Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components as designated.
• Coordinate projects and communicate effectively with customers.
