Job summary

Deutsche Lufthansa AG seeks an Aircraft Loading Supervisor to lead on-ground aircraft handling, ensuring safety, efficiency, and timely departures. You will oversee ramp operations, coordinate multiple handling phases, and supervise partners to secure cargo and comply with standards.

Requirements include 1–3 years in aircraft handling, ALS qualification, and fluent English. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel/work shifts are essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise ramp functions.
• Perform safety checks prior to departure and coordinate activities during irregularities.
• Coordinate all phases of aircraft handling including catering, cleaning, fueling, cargo, boarding, and pushback.
• Supervise service partners and ensure proper cargo buildup and security.
• Ensure cargo and luggage are secured in compartments.
• Adhere to Lufthansa Group standards and procedures.
• Perform other tasks and projects as assigned.

Are you ready to optimize and orchestrate seamless aircraft handling processes? Lead the way as our Aircraft Loading Supervisor and make every ground minute count!

Tasks

From safe operations to on-time departures, your leadership keeps aircraft handling running smoothly. Explore the tasks:

• Supervision of ramp functions
• Operational safety/load security checks on aircraft prior to departure, which also includes the coordination of all operational activities during irregularities
• Coordination of all phases of aircraft handling, including catering, cleaning, fueling, cargo handling, authorities, crew and passenger boarding/de-boarding as well as pushback and walkout assistance.
• Supervision of service partners during all phases of aircraft loading/unloading, including checking on correct buildup/preparation of cargo – destined for bulk loading or in unit load devices
• Ensure all cargo, mail or luggage is properly tied down or secured in the compartments
• Regularly check and ensure the adherence to LHG standards and procedures

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a combination of the below requirements:

• High school diploma/GED required
• Bachelor's degree desirable
• 1-3 years of work experience in aircraft handling required
• Fluency in English language required
• Successful completion of Training in Aircraft Handling (including DCS systems) required
• Valid ALS Qualification required
• Knowledge of Emergency Response (SERP) planning required
• Knowledge of passenger handling and gate processes preferred
• PC skills including all MS Office programs as user
• Excellent ability to work under pressure
• Willingness to travel
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Must be willing to work shifts
• Must possess a legal work permit in the U.S.
