Job summary

Amentum in Fallon, NV invites applications for a Plane Captain to manage aircraft handling, inspections, fueling ground support equipment, and guidance to team members. The role covers launch/recovery, taxi directing, safety compliance, and customer service in a dynamic aerospace environment.

Required are a high school diploma, 2+ years in aviation maintenance or flight line ops, US citizenship, and flight line certification as plane captain with semi-annual re-qualification.

Qualifications

• Two or more years’ experience in aviation maintenance and/or flight line operations.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily and turn around inspections as required to the applicable procedures.
• Initiates and completes applicable maintenance forms.
• Performs Aircraft fuel sampling/servicing as required IAW established procedures.
• Launches and recovers aircraft.
• Serves as aircraft taxi director during launch and recovery operations.
• Tows aircraft and act as aircraft brake rider when required.
• Ties down and covers aircraft utilizing established procedures.
• Provides technical, assistance, guidance and instruction as required.
• Utilizes two-way communication equipment as required.
• Ensures compliance with Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous Waste, Egress Familiarization, and Tool Control programs.
• Ensures compliance with all established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facility and job assignment.
• Ensures safety, security and preservation of government and company owned equipment.
• Provides courteous and professional customer service.
• Operates portable firefighting equipment.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the work center.
• Performs other qualified duties as assigned.
