Job summary

Cirrus Aircraft Ltd. in Duluth, MN seeks a Production Leader to direct and coordinate the production assembly departments, ensuring quality, safety, and on-time delivery. You will train, retain, and support direct labor, execute production designs with Process Engineering, and drive continuous improvements.

The role requires a manufacturing leadership background, strong communication, and Lean 6S experience, with a focus on reducing scrap and NCRs while meeting targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate's degree may be considered with more experience.
• 7 years of related manufacturing leadership experience or equivalent
• Knowledge of Cirrus Design's manufacturing processes preferred
• Proficient with Internet software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; problem solving
• Ability to anticipate department needs and plan effectively; timely decisions
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles; experience leading Lean projects
• Familiar with 6S: Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates activities of production assembly departments.
• Ensures safety standards and policies are met.
• Monitors employee performance and training needs.
• Executes production design and communicates with Process Engineering.
• Prioritizes production schedules based on introductions, equipment efficiency, and materials.
• Reviews reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues to minimize costs.
• Coaches staff, plans improvements, and aims for on-time, zero-defect delivery.
• Leads continuous improvement initiatives and reduces scrap and NCRs.
• Works to control overtime and absenteeism.
