Timken Aurora Bearing Company in Illinois is seeking an Assembly Technician to perform a variety of production tasks in the Aircraft department. You will set up and operate presses, laser marker, ink jet, electro-etch, ovens, and swage equipment, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; post-secondary or technical education preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and shop math competencies.
• Strong ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.
• Strong ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, suppliers, and plant leadership.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate all production machinery in Assembly: presses, lasers, ink jet, electro etch, ovens, swage.
• Check fit and marking per print; adjust as needed for quality.
• Move parts between work areas and maintain clean, organized workspace.
• Follow safety rules and Lock Out/Tag Out procedures; report unsafe conditions.
• Run first-piece part when required and document set-up per print specifications.
• Maintain machine fluid levels and monitor gauges for quality characteristics.
