Job summary

Timken - Aurora Bearing in Illinois is hiring machine operators for day and afternoon shifts. Training and growth opportunities are provided, with pay starting at $18.50–$20.50 per hour, plus a $1.50 shift premium for 2nd shift.

Positions include assembly, grinding, lathe, and milling work. Applicants should be able to read blueprints and have basic measuring tools experience; HS diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and adjust production machinery and related equipment such as presses, lasers, and mills.
• Inspect parts for fit and marking per print specifications using gauging tools.
• Set up machines and run first piece parts, adjusting to meet quality specs.
• Load parts, cycle equipment, and monitor parts at designated intervals.
• Maintain machine operation including fluid level checks.

Job Description

We have various opportunities on day and afternoon shifts for machine operators at the Timken Aurora Bearing facility.

On the Job training and Growth opportunity available.

Pay based on experience starting at $18.50-20.50/hr

+ $1.50 for 2nd shift

Machine Operators (Assembly, Grinder, Lathe, Mill)

• Operate and adjust production machinery that may include presses, laser marker, ink jet, electro etch, fit, ovens, swage, bore grinders, drill, mill and roll thread.

• Check parts for fit, center, stake, stamp and proper marking per the print specifications. This is done through visual and physical inspection as well as use of gauging tools includingmicrometer and calipers.

• Based on experience may require setting up machine up per machine parameters. Run first piece parts when required and make appropriate adjustments to attain quality characteristics per print specifications and complete necessary paperwork to attain a set-up approval.

• Load parts as instructed, cycle equipment and check parts at designated intervals and make necessary adjustments.

• Maintain machine operation including checking fluid levels.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

• Ability to read and understand blueprints

• Prior manufacturing and machine operating experience preferred

• Experience with gages and micrometers preferred

• 1st shift hours are Monday - Friday from 7:00am - 3:30pm and 2nd shift hours are 3:30pm - 12:00am.
